Just Talk With God

Sometimes it’s hard to realize that prayer is simply talking with God. God doesn’t have an answering machine… He always picks up. We don’t need to dial… we just say hello and he’s there. God even knows what we’re going to say, before it comes from our mouth. The best part is that He doesn’t want any fifty-dollar words… just plain talk. God is also a very good listener… He won’t put us on hold. He’s patient too… and doesn’t mind hearing a prayer over and over again. We can give God calls throughout the day and night… He never slumbers or sleeps. God understands, so we can let it all out… even if we are mad with Him.
On the other hand, listening to God is a little more tricky than deciphering your BFF’s latest text message. It may come in the form of a “nudge” to do something. Or through insight while reading the Bible. Many times he uses other believers to deliver His message. We shouldn’t expect detailed directions… He may just say, “yes,” ”no,” or “not now.” His answer may not fit our schedule either… we must wait for God.
Instead of praying, why don’t we just talk with God?
